25 and Feeling Fine.

image

On Tuesday, I turned 25 years old. When I was younger, I never would have thought that by the time I turned 25, I’d be married with a beautiful baby and a home of my own. I feel so lucky that my life has turned out the way it did, and I welcome my 25th year with a full heart.

When I woke up, a huge present was waiting for me: A gorgeous espresso machine! Ever since our trip to New Zealand, normal coffee in the morning hasn’t been cutting it. Now I can make flat whites at home!

My expectations for my birthday plans this year weren’t set very high. The week before, on several occasions, I had forgotten about it altogether. I chalked it up to being a new mum and being too busy and too focused on Ruby to even think about myself. I imagined I’d have a nice day out with my family and a quiet dinner at home. Little did I know, my wonderful husband had planned a surprise birthday BBQ. By the time we got home from our outing, a group of my very special friends were waiting for me! We spent the evening grilling burgers, digging into my Edible Arrangement that my dad brought over and playing Cards Against Humanity. It made me feel so great to know that there are people out there who love me this much and wanted to celebrate my birthday with me. I couldn’t have asked for a better night.

I also want to say thank you to all of the wonderful birthday messages I have received over social media. I have never felt so loved and it means so much to me. Thank you to my friends and family for their company, and thank you so much to my husband, Jaxin for spoiling me and just being a kick ass guy! I love you all!

Family Day.

Ever since the fire at the Love Before Glory and Key Street HQ, Jaxin has been working so hard to get everything at the new place situated. Today, he took the day off to spend with us, and because it was such a beautiful spring day we decided to go for a stroll around Balboa Island. We used to spend a lot of days and nights walking around there pre-Ruby, and we’re trying to make the effort to keep going on more of a regular basis. Here are a few snaps from our outing:

Had a little bit of lunch and a coffee at Wilma’s Patio. Ruby loved teething on a watermelon rind.

Ruby and Jaxin stopped to examine and smell the roses.

Ruby loved squishing her toes in the sand. I’m looking forward to many more of these family days to come this summer!

5 years ago today I sat on a tiny couch in someone’s living room with this guy. I watched him design a T-shirt for this band he was going to be in called “Of Mice and Men”. I was a blonde then and he had long fringe. We watched “For the Love of Ray J” and drank warm beer (he pretended because he didn’t want to be rude and tell me he didn’t drink when I offered him one). We wanted to hangout again so we exchanged Myspace information and he said he’d write. 19 year old me and 22 year old him never realized that this meeting would be the beginning of our wonderful life journey together. Neither of us expected to fall in love, get married, start a business, buy a house or have a baby together. But here we are. Thank you for our life’s journey so far, @jaxinhall. I love you! #tbt #2009

Ruby turned 8 months on the third of this month. She can roll all over the room but has yet to crawl. She had two bottom teeth and four teeth coming in on top. She can say mum, dada, and bird which was her first official word associated with a particular object! She’s the happiest baby I know, but she can get quite sassy when she wants to be. She’s funny and smart and everything I hoped my baby would be. I’m very happy to be your mum, little lady and I can’t wait to see how you grow within the next month. Love you!

International Women’s Day.

Today is international women’s day and I would just like to take a minute to acknowledge a few people.

image

First, my mother. She is one tough cookie and has always busted balls to help the people she loves. She is the epitome of a strong woman and I hope to be on her level one day. She is also incredibly generous and the best Grammy a girl could ask for.

image

Next, my beautiful daughter, Ruby. She is the happiest little thing on the planet and lights up my world. She has brought new meaning to my life and I hope that I can be the best mum for her and raise her to be a bright and independent woman.

image

Last (but definitely not least), my husband, Jaxin. He’s not a woman but he is the man who has made me a wife and a mother, and for that, I can’t thank him enough. With his unconditional love and support, he has made me want to always be the best person I can be and has always treated me as an equal and a partner.

To all the other amazing women in my life, friends and family, here’s to you! Love and respect yourself because you are loved and respected by others.

Happy International Women’s Day!

I’m Back.

image

Despite the negative aspects of social media, I have decided to come back to Tumblr. I’m in the process of cleaning up my friends list on Facebook and I have made my Instagram private. This is a blog about my life. My friends and family are included in my posts and I hope you will be respectful in your comments and re-blogs. I enjoy sharing my life with the world, but I don’t want to regret my decision to do so.

Thank you for all the love and support.
